Almost Over
May 4, 2009
Looks like this’ll be another listy sort of entry.
- Happenings of the past month
- Finished writing my Honors Thesis. A few tiny revisions were all that was necessary. After that comes a 10 minute presentation and defense of this to 2 professors, then done. I look forward to moving on to other things, but this experience has been very valuable (and may spawn a Masters project? We are still considering).
- Hope to move into an apartment in early June. Paperwork pending, but almost all arranged.
- Graduating May 16th at 10:30am. Fear mixes with glee. I have my robes and such, but have yet to decide if I want a $35 phi beta kappa stole to go with my Honors hood. Look fancy for the relatives, perhaps?
- I’m an outstanding zoology senior and will graduate summa cum laude unless I fail all of my classes.
- I have applied for 5 summer jobs. I hope to get one. Paying rent without income is possible but uncomfortable.
- Made a new friend. He’s visiting our lab from Germany and will be here in Norman until August. I really should’ve taken German instead of Spanish. So. Many. Germans.
- Crazy weather. My truck is much cleaner than usual thanks to the rain. I haven’t taken it to a carwash in years.
- Apparently my health problems from last semester and this were rooted in dehydration, poor nutrition and exhaustion. I am feeling much better now that I’ve started keeping fruit on hand and drinking water constantly. Increased sleep is also lovely.
That is all, I think.
